Data Protection Notice
The European Copper Institute (ECI) thanks you for visiting our website and for your interest in our organisation. We place great importance on protecting your privacy when processing your personal data. We process personal data collected from visitors to our website according to data protection laws. ECI Internet pages may contain links to other websites to whom this data protection declaration does not apply.
Collection and processing of personal data
When you visit our web pages, our web servers automatically save the name of your Internet service provider, the website from which you came to us, the websites that you visit from our homepage, and the date and duration of your visit. Personal data, on the other hand, are only stored if you deliberately inform us of these, for example when registering to a newsletter, completing a survey or form, participating in a competition, requesting a publication or asking a technical question. Your data are kept for a maximum of three years, after which we will ask to renew or confirm your subscription.
Use and dissemination of personal data and permissible uses
ECI uses your personal data for purposes of technical administration of its websites, visitor administration, surveys and for marketing strictly within the necessary limits. We only retain necessary and sufficient data for the management of our electronic or physical mailings. No information is likely to affect the privacy of our subscribers.
We don’t sell or transfer the data we collect to third parties. Transfers of personal data to state bodies and authorities are only carried out when this is required by nationally-binding laws.
Use of data for marketing campaigns
We would like to use your data to tell you about our campaigns and, if necessary, to ask you about these. Naturally, your participation in any campaign of this kind is voluntary. If you do not consent to this, please let us know, so that we can deactivate your data accordingly (within one month, at the latest).
ECI takes technical and administrative security measures in order to protect the data that we have collected from accidental or deliberate manipulation, loss, deletion or access by unauthorised individuals. Our security measures are being continually improved as technology develops.
If, despite our security measures, something happens to the personal data you have provided to us, we will take all reasonable steps to remedy the breach and mitigate the risks. We will also notify you as soon as we can if this breach is likely to result in significant risk to you. We will then provide you with recommendations on how to limit negative impacts.
If you have any questions regarding the processing of your personal data, please contact us.
Right of access to data
On request, ECI or the representative responsible for you will inform you as quickly as possible, according to the applicable laws, as to what, if any, personal data we have stored about you. If, despite our efforts to ensure that data are correct and up-to-date, we have stored incorrect information, we will correct this at your request.
