Copper’s Role as a Carrier Metal for Other Non-Ferrous Metals
Copper is recognised as a key material for lowcarbon solutions such as renewable energy and electric vehicles. Less well known is that copper is a ‘carrier metal’ for a wide range of other non-ferrous metals strategically important for a climate neutral Europe. So refining and recycling of copper is Europe’s most important route to access precious and critical metals.
