ECI and its network of national associations in Europe, collectively part of the Copper Alliance, continued its efforts to defend and grow markets for copper, ensure fair market access for copper products, and support the copper industry’s license to operate.

The 2015 Annual Report provides several examples of our work and describes, where appropriate, how they fit into the European legislative agenda. Key 2015 items included advocacy efforts towards the new Energy Union and Circular Economy packages, copper sector technical inputs into the development of the post 2020 Emissions Trading System (ETS), plus the provision of significant scientific and socio-economic data into multiple chemicals management issues, including REACH.
