    Trial finds copper reduces health-care associated infections by 58 % (April)
    Brussels, April 9, 2013: New research has shown that the use of antimicrobial copper surfaces in intensive care units (ICUs) can reduce the number of healthcare-associated infections (HCAIs) by 58% as compared to patients treated in ICUs with non-copper touch surfaces. This is the first time an intervention designed to reduce microbial burden has had a clinical impact on ICU patients.

    French "Prohitibion Kit" wins Copper and the Home 2012 (January)
    Brussels, January 21, 2013: First prize in the international Copper and the Home 2012 design competition has been awarded to Francesco Morackini of France for his project: Prohibition Kit. The jury’s unanimous decision was based on the graphical care of Francesco’s design for an alcohol distillery disguised as a collection of everyday objects – a playful reference to the Prohibition Era, when alcohol was banned.
